Hearing Aids

Behind the ear (BTE)

Behind-the-ear (BTE) devices are appropriate for people with a wide range of hearing loss, from mild to profound. This device fits neatly behind your ear. The body of the hearing aid attaches to a custom ear mold or thin tubing. Because this device has several parts, manual dexterity is necessary to ensure proper insertion and placement.

Receiver in the canal (RIC)

Receiver-in-the-ear (RITE) hearing aids are similar to BTE devices. The body of a RITE hearing aid sits behind your ear. A thin receiver wire extends from the body of the hearing aid over your outer ear and into your ear canal. A soft tip sits just inside of your ear canal without sealing it. For many people, this offers a more natural sound. They’re appropriate for mild to severe hearing loss.

Completely In the canal (cIC)

Completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aids are small, discreet devices that fit entirely inside the ear canal, making them nearly invisible. They are custom-molded for comfort and are ideal for mild to moderate hearing loss. CIC aids provide a natural listening experience by minimizing wind noise and enhancing sound clarity, all while maintaining a subtle, unnoticeable appearance.

CROS/BICROS

CROS and BiCROS hearing aids are specialized devices designed for individuals with single-sided hearing loss. A CROS system transmits sound from the ear with no usable hearing to the better-hearing ear, allowing the wearer to hear sounds from all directions. BiCROS works similarly but is designed for people with hearing loss in both ears, enhancing sound clarity in the better ear while picking up sounds from the other.

Invisible In the Canal (Iic)

In-the-ear (ITE) Hearing Aid devices fill either your entire ear (known as full-shell) or a portion of the bowl (known as half-shell) of your ear. These are best for people who may have dexterity issues or difficulty handling small items. Providers often recommend ITE devices for people with moderate to severe hearing loss.

In the Ear (ITE)

In-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids are custom-made devices that fit snugly within the outer ear. They are discreet and offer a natural feel, making them a popular choice for those seeking a balance between comfort and performance. ITE hearing aids come in a variety of styles, from full-shell to half-shell, depending on the user's hearing needs and ear size. These aids are suitable for mild to severe hearing loss and often include features like volume control and Bluetooth connectivity for easy use.
